My New Book is in the works: Deep Learning on Windows

Hope you all are staying safe!

With the lockdown and working from home from my job I've had a bit of free time these past few days. I've spent some of that time on going through the comments of the blog, and the questions and queries I have received from you readers through email and social media channels.

What I was trying to do was to identify any major areas you are struggling in, and try to come up with solutions to address those areas.

What I found was that, most of the queries were related to building deep learning models on the Windows OS, and how-to setup and troubleshoot the tools on it.

So, as a means of addressing this area, I've decided to start writing a new book, which will be named "Deep Learning on Windows".

Materials and support for setting up deep learning frameworks and building models on Windows is a little bit scarce out there. This is mainly because native support for Windows in many of the popular tools were not there until recently.

This is why I decided to write a book specifically on getting deep learning development started on Windows.

This will be a beginner to intermediate book, aimed at enthusiasts who wish to learn deep learning and computer vision, but are reluctant to start because of the fear of needing to switch to an OS such as Linux. Deep Learning on Windows will help them learn building Deep Learning and Computer Vision Systems, using Python, TensorFlow, Keras, OpenCV and more, right within the familiar elements of Microsoft Windows.

The goal of this book is to get as many of you interested in the field of Deep Learning, and have the OS you build upon a non-barrier to start learning.

I chose to write and publish this book on LeanPub.
LeanPub allows me to publish the in-progress book. As in, I will be able to publish the book when I have few of the chapters finished, and then add the rest incrementally. Anyone who purchase the book will get all the later updates for free. This allows early purchasers to review and provide feedback on the book as its being written, and I would be able to keep updating the book content as things change (e.g. when a new version of a library gets released) and provide the updates for free for everyone who buys the book.

From LeanPub's description:
If you buy a Leanpub book, you get free updates for as long as the author updates the book! Many authors use Leanpub to publish their books in-progress, while they are writing them. All readers get free updates, regardless of when they bought the book or how much they paid (including free).
Most Leanpub books are available in PDF (for computers), EPUB (for phones and tablets) and MOBI (for Kindle). The formats that a book includes are shown at the top right corner of this page.
Finally, Leanpub books don't have any DRM copy-protection nonsense, so you can easily read them on any supported device.

Early adopters would get a lower price for the book, and they would not have to pay again. The books price will gradually increase as new content gets added, so buying early gives you the best deal.

I plan to publish the first increment in the coming weeks.

The book's LeanPub page is here: https://leanpub.com/deep-learning-on-windows
You can sign up for book updates there.

Stay tuned for more details!
